The holidays are coming, we’re opening the advent calendar and it’s time to start thinking about festive decorations, pressies and having those kitchen parties!
Whether it’s Christmas, Pancha Ganapati, Hanukkah, Yule or the Winter Solstice, you can’t beat giving the house a good sprinkling of glitter and good cheer.
We all know it’s easy to get the Christmas tree decorations out and start hanging them off the kitchen cabinets, but how about going the whole hog and ordering some new, reusable festive treats for tables and walls.
Splashbacks
Yep, a splashback!
You can have one just about any design or colour you like these days.
From something festive, fun and colourful to images of the family in their Santa hats, you can have a spectacular centrepiece behind that hob!
Splashbacks can be acrylic or toughened safety glass – so, if you order them with pre drilled holes you can rehang them every year without needing any installation services!

Hob Covers
Not something we would all think of to be honest – but they are another great, practical addition to a kitchen design.
Now, you have to be careful when picking up a hob cover as they may not be suitable for every different kind of hob – usually they fit on electric and induction hobs.
But, if you have a gas hob with suitable pan holders, you can easily pop one on there too.
Design wise, we’d suggest keeping it simple so you can use the cover all year round.
Go for a nice, rich colour that fits in with the kitchen splashbacks, the work tops and the decor – as well as something that gives a little extra festive cheer when all the other candles, trimmings and decorations are out.
Some hob covers even come in multiple panels so you could make up any colour combo you like!

Table Runners
When it time for that special meal, sprucing the table with napkins, crackers and other fun stuff is always a great thing to do.
Well, why not consider getting a toughened glass table runner?
Not only do they make the table look super classy, but they are also great to put hot plates, pans and dishes on so you don’t scorch the table or the table cloth.
You can have a table runner with a holiday scene on it, or a pic of the family, just as you can with other glass products, but we would suggest something a little more practical.
How about something in a festive colour, or something plain that goes with the other tableware.

Place Mats
This is something you’ll find at most special occasions, whether it’s ones bought to fit the theme or something your Gran handed down as a family heirloom.
Well, this year it’s easy to get the perfect holiday settings with a little imagination and some forward planning with your place mats.
Again, toughened glass if your friend as it’s durable, safe and heat resistant. Plus, glass always looks classy and it’s easy to clean.
In our opinion an image is perfectly acceptable, especially when celebrating Christmas, as we see no need to be subtle with the festive cheer!

Coasters
If you have the table mats, you gotta have the coasters, right?
It’s unusual to find something as small as a coaster in printed or painted glass.
But, acrylic or any other material would be fine so long as you’re not putting anything too hot on them – and wine, sherry or eggnog are rarely served hot!
If the place mats are images then maybe use a contrasting colour in the coasters – or simply copy the image to pull the whole shebang together.

Table Tops
Now, this one may have to be a Christmas gift to yourself because it’s not a cheap ‘decoration’ – but just think of the ‘wow’ factor it’d add to that dream kitchen or dining room!
You could even do the coffee table in the front room as sizes and shapes are available in many options.
Obviously you are going to have to look at toughened safety glass here, and ensure the company you buy from are well versed in the health and safety of using glass for tables.
Once you are sure everything is hunky dory with the terms and conditions, go nuts!
Colours, images, sparkles – you can have just about anything on your dream table whether it’s a square, a circle or a rectangle!
